The Wildwood Motel is nestled on a quite street in charming Historic Shelburne, Nova Scotia.  With 20 spacious and comfortable rooms,  we also offer FREE wireless internet and continental breakfast to all of our guests.

Each of the 15 double rooms is equipped with two double beds while each of the remaining single rooms has a large queen-size bed. All rooms have a three-piece bath, a TV, phone, air-conditioning and FREE wireless internet access.

Nature lovers will appreciate The Wildwood;  we are a short walk from the mouth of Shelburne Harbour and steps from the public hiking trail, where you head for Birchtown or Islands Park, where there are groomed hiking trails, several boat launches, dozens of family picnic areas and a sandy beach.

Paddlers will enjoy exploring the many islands and small bays in the harbour and there are daily harbour cruises, including close-up view of McNutt's Isalnd. Birders will appreciate the ease in observing shorebirds in the area (Shelburne County is one of the best bird watching regions in Nova Scotia); and hikers and walkers will find the miles of new and old hiking trails difficult to resist.

And there are plenty of other attractions just minutes from The Wildwood, including;

  • Five museums, a marina, yacht club and performing arts centre in its beautiful historic district
  • Restaurants, taverns, gift shops and book stores are in the waterfront district
  • River Hills Golf and Country Club (18 holes) is just 15 minutes away
  • Birchtown nearby is home to one of the largest Black Loyalist settlements in North America and is only 3 minutes away. The school house museum, old burial ground and historic church are fascinating places to visit.

We are about an hour from Yarmouth and the ferries to Portland and Bar Harbour, Maine and just an hour from Liverpool and about an hour and a half from the historic and picturesque towns of Lunenburg and Mahone Bay. Halifax, with its waterfront, galleries, museums and nightlife, is a two and a half hour drive.

We look forward to seeing you, Jim & Sandra Goodick
